FARMER

FreshSource works closely with a range of producers. Our aim is to enable fair agri-sourcing, as we empower our producers to increase their income and their quality of life.

After farm produce reaches optimal growth, itʼs time for harvesting. Harvesting needs to be done carefully as produce is more likely to get damaged during this process. Our partners take extra care to ensure produce arrives in great condition.

Once fresh produce is harvested, itʼs delivered by the farmers to FreshSourceʼ cold storage.
After FreshSource receives the produce, it has to be sorted and graded to ensure that our customers receive the highest-quality product. The sorting and grading process often involves checking how the fruit or vegetable looks on the outside, its size, shape, color, blemishes, or marks on the skin – these are called “quality grades.” After checking the quality of the produce, produce is cleaned to get rid of dirt, dust, or other contaminants. For the sake of ensuring produce is free from any bacteria and microbial contaminants that may negatively affect our customers. Once FreshSource has cleaned the fruits and vegetables, they begin the packaging process.
Pre-cooling produce is vital to keeping the produce fresh on its journey without risking spoilage. FreshSource keeps the fresh produce in its advanced storage facility with cooling units that keep the temperature and humidity stable to help preserve freshness.
FreshSource ensures that storage areas are clean and completely dry to minimize the chance of molds or fungi growing on the fresh produce. Handling of produce by workers is also strictly controlled to minimize the chances of cross-contamination from one batch to another before shipping fresh produce.
Once produce have been cleaned and packed, the transportation process begins. Wherever our customers are we go and ship the produce in large trucks. Transporting fresh produce to customers isnʼt easy, and FreshSource uses a number of different techniques to ensure food safety during the shipping process. These include ensuring that trucks are clean, avoiding cross-usage of packaging materials, and maintaining optimum conditions during transport.
